Next, I went to the northernmost bits of the South Island of New Zealand.
Beautiful beaches, lots of sunshine and peanut overdose.
To get my bank account into an acceptable condition for the rest of my journey through New Zealand,
I stayed in Blenheim for six weeks, opening mussels at a factory and enjoying life at Leeway's Backpackers.
I also went to see some whales near Kaikoura!
I spent the beginning of the new decade in New Plymouth where I hiked around in the Taranaki National Park,
and in Wellington, the capital of New Zealand.
For the first time in my life, I've celebrated Christmas, my birthday and New Year's Eve in summer!
I have even encountered a shark...
With some lovely people I met in Auckland,
I went on a road trip all across the North Island of New Zealand.
We picked up the One Ring in Hobbiton and brought it to Mount Doom...
